アメリカでは、天然資源保全協会（NRDC : Natural Resources Defense Council)がClean Energy and Conservationという自然、生物、そしてクリーンエネルギー開発のための地図を公開し、建設に対するガイドラインの参考となっています。日本でも国立公園や国の管轄の森林などだけでも、このような地図が必要とされていると思います。
パナソニックが、オーストラリアで10月に開催されるGlobal Green Challengeに出場するMITのソーラーカーチームとスポンサー契約を結び、リチウムイオン電池を提供すると発表しました。同社は、同じレースに参戦する東海大学のチャレンジセンターチームにもリチウムイオン電池を提供するということです。
なお、Global Green Challengeは、10月25日から31日まで開催され、オーストラリア北部のダーウィンから南部のアデレードまで約3,000kmを走行し、タイムを競います。これまでワールドソーラーチャレンジとして行われてきた同レースは、今年から名を改め、新しいカテゴリーを加え、大きなエコカーのレースとして拡大開催される予定です。
