米ソラジン社 Solazyme、2015年までにコロンビアでセルロースを材料に、緑藻で作るバイオ燃料の量産化計画をスタート

　緑藻からバイオ燃料を作るという研究は世界中で行われている。その実用化に向けて競争が行われています。そんな折り、こんなニュースが流れました。

　脱化石燃料に本腰を入れるアメリカ軍の動きはさまざまですが、今回はアメリカ海軍の攻撃用ボートを緑藻から作ったバイオ燃料で走らせるデモンストレーションを行ったというものです。
　その燃料を作った会社は、サンフランシスコの米ソラジン社 Solazymeでした。同社のサイトに行くと、すでに量産化のための資金の獲得に成功していました。コロンビアの石油会社との共同開発で、コロンビアの非作物系資源、セルロース（サトウキビ残渣）を同社が開発した緑藻で分解、バイオ燃料を生産するための本格的な研究開発を行うということです。パートナーとなった、コロンビアの大手石油会社 Ecopetrolは、2015年までに4億5000万トンの再生可能な資源を起源とする燃料を生み出すことを目標とするということです。

Solazyme, Inc., an industrial biotechnology company producing renewable oils and bioproducts using microalgae, has signed its third development agreement with Ecopetrol (EC, NYSE), the largest company in Colombia and one of the four major oil companies in Latin America, to analyze manufacturing viability of algae-based diesel fuel using renewable Colombian feedstocks such as sugarcane and byproduct glycerol. Ecopetrol has a strategic goal to provide at least 450 million tons of fuel from renewable oil sources by 2015.

ガメサGamesa、ブラジルで9ヶ所の風力発電所に2MWの129基、合計258MWを受注

　スペインの大手風力発電機メーカーであるガメサGamesaは、ブラジルで9ヶ所の風力発電所に2MWの129基、合計258MWを受注したと発表しました。同社のG8Xは、ローター直径が80メートルの2MW風力発電機です。今回のプロジェクトは、20112年間をかけて、129基、合計258MWを納品するもので、プロジェクト運営は、スペインのIBERDROLA RENOVABLES社が行うということです。
　世界三番目の実績を誇るスペインのガメサ（風力発電バロメータ 2010 年（EU）ＮＥＤＯ海外レポートNO.1062,2010.4.22）の南米進出案件としては2件目、ブラジル初のプロジェクトになるということです。

amesa's first supply contract in Brazil, where the company just opened its first subsidiary in the Mercosur, and fits within the framework of its recent strategy for venturing into new markets

Gamesa will be the designated supplier of wind turbines, totalling 258 MW of installed capacity, for nine wind farms Iberdrola Renovables will develop in Brazil.
Gamesa will supply a total of 129 wind turbines over the next two years (2011-2012), specifically its G8X turbine model, which features 2 MW of unit capacity.
The contract calls for Gamesa to supply, transport and erect the turbines and perform start-up and maintenance work over a two-year period.
The agreement comes two days after Iberdrola Renovables, in a venture with Neoenergia ? a Brazilian energy holding company part-owned by the Iberdrola Group ? won a bid to build 258 MW of installed wind capacity in Brazil's second tender process for the development of renewable energies. The tender was called by Brazil’s electricity industry authority, Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica (ANEEL).
